چکیده
Salmonella is a foodborne pathogen responsible for several outbreaks in low-water activity (aw) foods. Treatment using light pulses emitted from light-emitting diodes (LED) an emerging decontamination method to inactivate pathogens. The objective of this study was understand the antibacterial mechanisms with 365, 395 and 455 nm wavelengths against Typhimurium low-aw conditions. 365 showed better inactivation efficacy S. than pulses. For instance, LED treatment ~217 J/cm2 dose produced reduction 2.94 log (CFU/g) cell counts, as compared 1.08 by same dose. We observed significant generation intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) cells after treatments at also membrane lipid oxidation Overall, major role ROS typhimurium

متن کاملTransient electroluminescence of polymer light emitting diodes using electrical pulses
Detailed experimental and theoretical analysis of the pulsed excitation of polymer light emitting diodes is presented. We find a set of universal transient features for a variety of device configurations ~different polymers/cathodes! which can be reproduced using our phenomenological numerical model. We find that the temporal evolution of the electroluminescence in response to a step voltage pu...
متن کاملAlN Õ AlGaInN superlattice light - emitting diodes at 280 nm
Ultraviolet light-emitting diodes operating at 280 nm, grown by gas source molecular-beam epitaxy with ammonia, are described. The device is composed of nand p-type superlattices of AlN~1.2 nm thick!/AlGaInN~0.5 nm thick! doped with Si and Mg, respectively. With these superlattices, and despite the high average Al content, we obtain hole concentrations of (0.7– 1.1)310 cm, with the mobility of ...
متن کاملLight-emitting diodes as measurement devices for femtosecond laser pulses.
We present results showing that, when it is used as a photodetector, a light-emitting diode (LED) has a power-dependent response that can be used for sensitive detection and characterization of picosecond and femtosecond laser pulses. A characterization of a typical LED is presented at 800 nm, and we demonstrate how this effect can be used to construct an extremely compact novel autocorrelator ...
